How to Connect Your Mailgun Account to Zuke

Mailgun is an email service that allows you to send emails from your applications. Zuke allows you to connect your Mailgun account so you can send emails from the platform.

Step 1: Create a Mailgun Account

Before connecting Mailgun to Zuke, make sure you have a Mailgun account.

If you don’t have an account yet, click here to learn how to create a Mailgun account.

When creating your Mailgun account, you will need to choose a region. Mailgun provides different regions, including US and EU.

The region you choose determines where your emails are processed and stored. Make sure you understand the requirements and compliance rules for the region you choose.

Note: In this example, we are using the EU region.

Step 2: Get Your Mailgun API Key

You need a Mailgun API key to connect your Mailgun account to Zuke.

  1. Log in to your Mailgun account.
  2. Open your Mailgun dashboard.
  3. Go to API Security.
  4. Find the API Keys section.
  5. Click Create key.
  6. Enter a name for your key, for example, Zuke Demo.
  7. Create the key.
  8. Copy the API key.

Keep your API key available because you will need it when configuring Mailgun in Zuke.

Step 3: Add Your Mailgun Details to Zuke

Once you have copied your Mailgun API key:

  1. Log in to your Zuke account.
  2. If you have multiple profiles, make sure you are using the correct profile.
  3. Go to Settings at the bottom-right of the Zuke dashboard.
  4. Select Automation.
  5. Select Email Setup.
  6. Click Mailgun.
  7. Paste your Mailgun API key into the Mailgun Key field.

  3. Click Save.

Finding Your Email Domain

Your email domain can be found in your Mailgun account.

  1. Go back to your Mailgun dashboard.
  2. Open the Send tab.
  3. Go to the Domains list.
  4. Find and select the domain you want to use.
  5. Enter this domain in the Email Domain field in Zuke.

Choosing Your From Email

The From Email is the email address that recipients will see when they receive emails from Zuke.

For example:

victory@yourdomain.com

You can also use a separate email address for notifications, such as:

no-reply@yourdomain.com

Choose the email address that best suits how you plan to use Mailgun.

Step 4: Test Your Connection

After saving your Mailgun settings:

  1. Click Test Connection.
  2. Wait for the connection test to complete.
  3. If successful, your Mailgun account is connected to Zuke.

Your Mailgun setup is now complete.

Bonus: Set Up Email Routing

Zuke also allows you to configure Email Routing from the same Automation settings page.

Email Routing allows you to choose which email service should be used for different types of emails.

For example, you can configure:

  • Marketing emails → Mailgun
  • Transactional emails → another email provider
  • Notification emails → Mailgun

To configure email routing:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Automation.
  3. Select Email Setup.
  4. Click Email Routing.
  5. Set the email provider for each type of email.
  6. Click Save Routing.

The platform saves these routing rules globally and uses them whenever emails are sent from the platform.
